Job Title – HR Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a generalist HR Manager working with the Prismatic Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to shape and deliver the people agenda for a rapidly evolving business

The job holder will play a pivotal part in defining the HR agenda and supporting its delivery to enable the wider business strategy

Tasks and Accountabilities

As part of this role you will be responsible for undertaking activities such as: –

  • Supporting People Managers in planning and implementing the People and Organisation Plan for Prismatic
  • Providing operational advice on a range of employment and performance issues and business change based on business needs
  • Enabling people manager capability uplift, facilitating/supporting/coaching the manager in execution of people initiatives where necessary
  • Reviewing business related people data to identify potential implications within the business context and environment and initiate local actions to resolve these as appropriate
  • Enabling functional strength and resource resilience via support to talent, strategic workforce planning and organisational effectiveness activity
  • Providing HR expertise, techniques and skills in line with both Prismatic and Group policies and procedures, and able to adapt appropriately
  • Influencing and coaching line managers and employees in line with people management practices and business priorities
  • Working with the business to identify a seamless and effective recruitment operation
  • Developing and implementing an effective Reward and Performance approach including the ongoing development of a strong Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to support attraction and retention of employees
  • Operating as Secretary for the Remuneration Committee (REMCO), leading on information provision to enable board approval for reward philosophy and implementation
  • Developing and implementing an effective time management process
  • Acting as Data Protection Lead for Prismatic

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • HR or Business related degree
  • CIPD Qualification Level 5+
  • Proven experience as HR generalist across a range of people processes including Reward, Performance, Attendance and Organisational Design and Development
  • Knowledgeable in UK employment legislation
  • Business acumen and understands strategic planning with the skillset to be able to explore options and challenge existing practice
  • Ability to explain difficult and sensitive people subject matter to line managers, providing advice, guidance coaching and direction investigating and resolving complex people issues
  • Effective communicator, able to manage messages into multiple audiences  
  • Ability to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders across the Entities Businesses, Group Human Resource function and business/functions at different levels
  • Experience of Data Analysis and the ability to present data to stakeholders in an effective manner
  • Strong stakeholder management experience coupled with influencing skills
  • High levels of IT Literacy with experience in all Microsoft Packages

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in the defence, aerospace or engineering sector
  • Due to our location and the requirement for occasional travel a UK driving licence is required.
  • Experience of operating in an international organisation
  • Experience of project management                   
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Enthusiasm for their work and self-motivated
  • Employee Relations background
  • Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK

Principal Terms and Conditions

  • Post – Permanent.
  • Salary – to be agreed depending on experience.
  • Pension – 10% contribution from the company included.
  • Leave – 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • Working time 37.5 hrs per week.
  • Location – Alton, Hampshire, UK.
  • Start – ASAP.
  • Eligible to participate in BAE Systems Share Incentive Scheme
